Kütahya Dumlupınar University 2026-2027 Sixth Placement Applications Are Open
Kütahya Dumlupınar University (DPÜ) has opened its sixth international student application round for the 2026-2027 academic year. This announcement is one of the year's most accessible opportunities for candidates with lower TR-YÖS scores.

A registration window of a month and a half is a significant advantage. It gives breathing room to candidates whose visa process runs long — at many universities the registration period lasts only a few days.
The TR-YÖS Threshold Is Just 150
This is the most striking feature of the announcement. DPÜ's TR-YÖS threshold is 150 points. Compared with the thresholds at universities we have covered previously, this is a notably low bar.
If your TR-YÖS score came in below your expectations and you are thinking "I won't get in anywhere", application rounds like this one are exactly for you. Candidates with limited scores should not give up on studying at university.
Beyond TR-YÖS, the university also accepts applications with SAT, ABITUR, TQDK, IB and the high school diploma. The accepted score types and the placement score calculation formula are published separately on the university's application page.
Application Fee: 2,500 TL, Non-Refundable
To submit an application, the application and evaluation fee of 2,500 TL must be paid via online banking at the point of entering the application system.
The university's announcement carries a clear warning: this fee is determined by the university's relevant boards and is not refunded under any circumstances.
For this reason, make sure you meet the eligibility conditions before applying. Discovering after payment that you were never eligible is an expensive mistake.
The 20% Nationality Quota: A Critical Rule
This clause in DPÜ's announcement directly affects your preference strategy:
During the placement period, a maximum of 20% of each department's places may go to candidates of the same nationality. This proportion is calculated on the total quota allocated to that department for that placement period.
What does this mean in practice? In popular departments where many candidates of your nationality concentrate, you may miss out even with a sufficient score because the quota has filled. In effect, your competition is not with all candidates but primarily with those from your own country.
The strategy against this is simple: use all 5 of your preferences and do not fill your list solely with the most popular departments. Include programs where candidates of your nationality are less concentrated.
A Warning for Graduates of Turkish High Schools
The announcement includes a firm restriction: candidates who completed their high school education at Turkish high schools, or who studied part of it at Turkish high schools, are required to sit the YKS. Such applications are not accepted in this application round.
In other words, if you studied even partly at a high school in Türkiye, you cannot use this international student quota.
Points to Watch When Applying
Applications are made individually through the centre's website. The key points from the announcement:
- Number of preferences: A candidate may make a minimum of 1 and a maximum of 5 preferences.
- Applications with missing documents are not evaluated. Documents must be uploaded to the system online.
- Original documents must also be uploaded. Candidates must upload their original documents along with the others. If you are admitted, the originals and the documents listed in the acceptance letter are requested at registration.
- Respond to additional document requests within 3 days. After application, the centre may request additional documents, information, photographs or video from candidates. Candidates are contacted by email in such cases and must respond within 3 days. Check your email and spam folder regularly.
- Accuracy is the candidate's responsibility. Candidates found to have discrepancies between uploaded and original documents, or to have submitted misleading or forged documents, have their registration cancelled — even if registration is already complete.
The Registration Stage: Mind the Visa Requirement
Two critical rules apply to registration:
- A valid visa is mandatory. Candidates placed from countries subject to visa requirements must hold a valid visa covering the relevant dates when they come to register. Candidates who do not attend the centre within the stated dates or who lack a valid visa are not registered.
- In-person registration or power of attorney. The candidate must attend registration in person. A candidate unable to attend may register through a representative authorised by a Turkish notary and/or Turkish consulate.
Registration is administered by the centre and requires an appointment. Since visa processes can take a long time, start your visa application the moment results are announced.

If You Are Not Placed in This Round
DPÜ opens several application periods over the year; this is the sixth. The university's announcement archive regularly publishes previous rounds' results and new round announcements.
So missing this round does not close the process. Keep following the centre's announcements.

- Your eligibility. If you studied at Turkish high schools, you cannot apply in this round — do not pay the fee for nothing.
- Which document you will apply with. TR-YÖS, SAT, ABITUR, TQDK, IB or high school diploma.
- All 5 of your preferences. Diversify your list with the 20% nationality quota in mind.
- The completeness of your documents. Applications with missing documents are not evaluated, and the fee is not refunded.
