Kahramanmaraş Sütçü İmam University 2026 Second Placement Results Are Out

Kahramanmaraş Sütçü İmam University (KSÜ) has announced its second-round international student placement results for the 2026-2027 academic year. According to the university's official calendar, the second-round result announcement date was set as 4 September 2026.

When Is Final Registration?

This is the information most sought after and missing from circulating announcements. According to KSÜ's official calendar, final registration dates vary by program:

All other associate and undergraduate programs (placed in rounds I, II and III): 21-25 September 2026
Faculty of Medicine (placed in round I): 31 August – 4 September 2026
Faculty of Dentistry (placed in round I): 24-28 August 2026
Faculty of Dentistry, excused final registration: 31 August – 4 September 2026

So if you were placed in the second round in a program other than medicine or dentistry, your final registration date is 21-25 September 2026. You have roughly two weeks to prepare; use that time for the translation and certification of your documents.

The academic calendar is also set: the academic term begins on 28 September 2026. Excused course registrations and add-drop run from 28 September to 2 October.

Not Placed? There Is a Third Round, and It Is Free

This is valuable information for candidates not placed in the second round. KSÜ's calendar explicitly includes a third round:

Online applications for vacant quotas: 7-11 September 2026
Preliminary check and evaluation of applications: 14-17 September 2026
Announcement of placement results: 18 September 2026

And most importantly, the university's announcement contains a clear provision: where the same candidate reapplies in round II or III for vacant quotas, no second application fee is charged within the same academic year.

In other words, if you already paid the 500 TL application fee in the first or second round, you can apply to the third round free of charge. Do not miss it.

The announcement also states that if quotas remain unfilled at the end of the final registration dates, quota transfers between programs may be made and a new application acceptance process may be launched. So even after the third round, the possibility does not close entirely.

Application Fee and the Refund Rule

The application fee is 500 TL per academic year and is charged once. There are clear restrictions on payment method: cash payment, bank transfer (havale) and cheque are not accepted.

You must write your passport number (or identity number), name, surname and application name in the receipt description. Keep the receipt to upload to the system.

The warning in the university's announcement matters: paying the fee and submitting an application does not mean you have been accepted. The fee is not refunded under any circumstances. Make the payment only after reading the entire application text.

If you are paying from abroad, bear in mind that bank transfers can take a long time.

Who Cannot Apply? Read This List Carefully

KSÜ's announcement contains a detailed list of those who cannot apply — a subject that leads many candidates to pay the fee for nothing. Applications are not accepted from:

Foreign nationals who studied at or graduated from high schools in Türkiye
Those born Turkish citizens who obtained permission to renounce citizenship, and Blue Card holders — if they studied at or graduated from high schools in Türkiye or the TRNC
Those who later acquired Turkish citizenship and dual nationals in this situation — if they studied at high schools in Türkiye or the TRNC
Turkish nationals who completed their entire secondary education in Türkiye or the TRNC
Dual nationals whose first nationality by birth is Turkish — if they studied at high schools in Türkiye or the TRNC
Turkish nationals or dual nationals whose first nationality by birth is Turkish — who studied at embassy schools or foreign high schools located in Türkiye
TRNC nationals or dual nationals with TRNC nationality — if they studied at or graduated from high schools following the Turkish curriculum in Türkiye or the TRNC

The common thread is this: having attended high school in Türkiye prevents you from using the international student quota. If this applies to you, you need to consider the YKS route.

Documents Required at Application

Documents are uploaded online during the application; the originals are presented to the university if you gain the right to register.

Photograph — 4.5x6 cm, colour, taken within the last 6 months. A photograph not meeting these conditions is treated as not uploaded, and if you are accepted it will appear on your student ID card.
Passport — a scan of the photographic identity page
High school diploma and translation — in Turkish or English. Candidates who have not yet received their diploma submit a provisional graduation document showing their expected graduation date and likely grades.
Official transcript — certified by the school administration. Grades not in the 100-point system must be converted by the candidate.
Valid exam result document — the TR-YÖS 2025 or TR-YÖS 2026 result document is uploaded if held

The Equivalency Certificate: Not at Application, but at Registration

This distinction matters and confuses many candidates. KSÜ's announcement states it plainly: the equivalency certificate is not requested during application. Accepted candidates present it at registration.

The equivalency certificate confirms that your high school diploma is equivalent to diplomas issued by Turkish high schools, and can be obtained from the Turkish Ministry of National Education or from the Turkish Embassy in your country.

But "required at registration" does not mean "take your time". Equivalency procedures can take a while, so start the process as soon as you learn your result — final registration closes on 25 September.

Tuition Fees Not Yet Announced

The university's announcement states that 2026-2027 tuition fees will be announced later and determined according to the Presidential Decision to be published in the Official Gazette.

An Important Warning: The Coordinatorship Has the Final Say

One point is emphasised in the announcement: the International Student Coordinatorship is the final decision-making authority in student selection and placement. Examination of the validity and originality of documents uploaded to the system is carried out at the coordinatorship's discretion, and its decisions are binding.

The calendar and final registration dates may also be extended or amended according to need and demand. Follow the university's announcements regularly.

What You Should Do Now

Check your result at obs.ksu.edu.tr.
Note your final registration date according to your program — 21-25 September for most programs.
Apply for your equivalency certificate immediately — it is required at registration and the process can run long.
Prepare the originals and translations of your documents.
Start your visa process.
If you were not placed, apply to the third round on 7-11 September — you will not pay a fee.
