Izmir Institute of Technology (IZTECH) has announced the third substitute list for international undergraduate admissions in the 2026-2027 academic year. The names of candidates who have moved from the substitute list to the main list and gained the right to register are published on the International Office's page.
Congratulations to all candidates who have secured a place.
First, Verify Your Result
According to IZTECH's announcement, an informative email is also sent to the address candidates provided during application. However, the institute additionally recommends that you log in to the application system to check the status of your application and the program to which you have been admitted.
If no email has arrived, check your spam folder and log in to the system directly. Substitute lists move quickly, so you must follow the process yourself.
A Three-Stage Registration Calendar
This is the part usually conveyed incompletely in circulating announcements. IZTECH's registration process is not a single date but three separate stages:
- Payment: 1-6 September 2026
- Document delivery (by email): 1-6 September 2026
- Registration process (in person): 7-11 September 2026
In other words, 6 September is not the final registration date — it is the deadline for payment and document delivery. In-person registration follows between 7 and 11 September.
The warning emphasised in the announcement is this: a candidate who does not pay the tuition fee or does not submit all required documents will lose the right to enrol.
Payment: In Dollars and Partial
IZTECH's fee structure works differently from other state universities. The partial tuition fees for the 2026-2027 fall term are:
- Faculty of Science programs: 450 US dollars
- Faculty of Engineering and Architecture programs: 600 US dollars
The critical point is stated plainly in the announcement: these amounts are not the full tuition fee. The remaining amount is paid after registration. So do not plan your budget on these figures alone; confirm the total annual cost with the Registrar's Office.
Other payment rules:
- Payments are made in dollars, and the net amount must be transferred to the dollar account.
- All money transfer costs are the student's responsibility. If your bank takes a deduction, you are liable for the shortfall — select the "all charges borne by sender" option when transferring.
- The student's name and surname must appear in the description field.
- The payment receipt should be sent to io-student@iyte.edu.tr.
The announcement also sets out a separate schedule for payments made in Turkish Lira at a Halkbank branch using your student number (16-24 September 2026), and notes that EFT transfers are not accepted for that payment. Confirm with the Registrar's Office which payment channel applies to you.
Documents Are Delivered by Email
Documents are sent to lykayit@iyte.edu.tr between 1 and 6 September 2026. The required documents are:
- Original high school diploma
- High school diploma translation — required if the diploma is not in English or Turkish. It must be approved by the foreign representatives of Türkiye or made by notaries in Türkiye.
- High school diploma equivalency certificate — must be obtained from the Ministry of National Education of the Republic of Türkiye or from Türkiye's foreign representatives.
- Transcript
- Financial security document (explained in detail below)
- Passport
- TR-YÖS exam score document
The Financial Security Requirement: The Equivalent of 80,000 TL
This clause catches many candidates unprepared. You must submit one of the following documents showing that you have sufficient financial security to continue your education in Türkiye:
- A copy of your bank statement showing US dollars corresponding to 80,000 TL
- A scholarship document proving you are a scholarship holder
- A commitment signed by your guarantor. The commitment form is provided with the announcement.
So if you do not hold that amount in your account, a scholarship document or a guarantor's commitment is sufficient. Prepare whichever of the three suits your situation — and given how short the window is, do not leave this document to the last day.
In-Person Registration: 7-11 September
Registration for candidates who have paid the fee and submitted the necessary documents is completed when they attend the institute in person with the original documents between 7 and 11 September 2026.
There is an alternative for candidates unable to attend: they may register through a person to whom they grant power of attorney at a notary in Türkiye. This is an important convenience for candidates whose visa process is running long or who have not yet been able to travel.
The registration announcement is also published on the Student Affairs website (oidb.iyte.edu.tr); follow that page for further detail.
English Proficiency Exam
Since the language of instruction at IZTECH is English, a proficiency exam is held to determine students' English level. Detailed information is published on the School of Foreign Languages page (ydyo.iyte.edu.tr).
On the Substitute List? The Process Continues
This is IZTECH's third substitute list for this period. The institute has already published first and second substitute lists.
That carries an important message for candidates still on the waiting list: when some of those entitled to register do not complete their registration, new substitute lists can be announced for the places left vacant. So if your name is not on the third list, keep following the process.
Check the International Office's announcements page and the application system regularly. We also publish other universities' placement and substitute list announcements daily on our blog.
