Harran University 2026 First Placement Results Are Out

Harran University has announced its international student placement results for the 2026-2027 academic year. According to the announcement dated 4 September 2026, placement was carried out within the framework of Harran University's International Student Admission Directive and the Council of Higher Education's Principles on the Admission of Students from Abroad.

You can check your result through the university's application system: obs.harran.edu.tr/oibs/foa_app/

Congratulations to all successful candidates.

Pre-Registration Calendar and a Critical Warning

  • Pre-registration dates: 4-11 September 2026

The university's announcement carries a warning in capital letters, and it is the single most important item in the process:

Students who do not complete registration within the pre-registration dates lose their registration rights and cannot carry out final registration.

This points to a two-stage structure. Pre-registration and final registration are separate procedures, and you cannot move to final registration without completing pre-registration. In other words, if you do not complete pre-registration by 11 September, your right lapses no matter how well prepared you are for final registration.

The most common mistake in such two-stage systems is postponing pre-registration on the assumption that "the real registration comes later." Start the pre-registration process on the day you learn your result.

Check the Application Announcement for Registration Rules

The result announcement also states that registration must be carried out taking into account the rules specified in the application announcement.

In other words, registration documents, fees and procedures are set out in a separate document — the "2026 International Student Application Announcement and Academic Calendar", dated 6 August 2026.

Download this document and read it end to end. The result announcement only tells you that you have been placed; what you need to do is written in the application announcement.

Note: this announcement document is shared through the university's cloud system and the link can occasionally return an access error. If it does not open, try again from the International Student Coordinatorship's announcements page or contact the coordinatorship directly.

Documents Commonly Required During Registration

Harran University's own document list appears in the application announcement. That said, the documents required for international student registration at Turkish universities overlap substantially. Starting to prepare the following will save you time:

  1. Original high school diploma and its Turkish translation certified by a notary or Turkish foreign representation
  2. Diploma equivalency certificate — obtained from Provincial Directorates of National Education or Turkish foreign representations
  3. Transcript and its certified translation
  4. Exam result document — YÖS, TR-YÖS or whichever exam result you used in your application
  5. Passport and its certified photocopy
  6. Student visa — required at the registration stage by many universities
  7. Passport photographs
  8. Tuition fee payment receipt
  9. Residence permit document — usually submitted within a set period after registration

This list is a general preparation guide; for the definitive list and any additional documents, rely on Harran University's own application announcement. For detailed information on registration documents and the equivalency process, see our application guide.

What Not to Forget After Registration

The process does not end once registration is complete. International students studying in Türkiye generally need to complete these steps as well:

  1. Residence permit application. Made through the Directorate General of Migration Management, and universities usually require the document to be submitted within a set period after registration (often two months).
  2. General Health Insurance. International students have an insurance obligation, with deadlines running from the start of the term.
  3. Turkish proficiency status. If you have been placed in a Turkish-taught program and do not hold a language proficiency certificate, a preparatory process may come into play. For how preparatory classes and exemption work in general, see our preparatory class guide.
  4. Course registration. You cannot register for courses until registration and payment are complete.

If You Were Not Placed

This is the university's placement round for this period. Not being placed in one round does not mean the process is closed; universities open new application and placement rounds from time to time depending on remaining quotas.

Keep following the announcements page of Harran University's International Student Coordinatorship. Other universities also have application and placement rounds open during the same period; we publish these announcements daily on our blog.

What You Should Do Now

  1. Check your result at obs.harran.edu.tr.
  2. Complete your pre-registration by 11 September without fail — missing this date directly forfeits your registration right.
  3. Read the application announcement and note the documents required for final registration.
  4. Begin the translation and certification of your documents — these procedures take time.
  5. Start your visa process immediately.
  6. Apply for your equivalency certificate if you have not already.

If you are new to TR-YÖS, our guide to what TR-YÖS is, its exam structure and application process is a good starting point. To estimate your score, use our TR-YÖS Score Calculator — the tool only estimates your score and does not show which universities will admit you.
