Fırat University 2026 Second Placement Results Are Out

Fırat University has announced its second placement results for international students for the 2026-2027 academic year. According to the announcement dated 1 September 2026, candidates who made preferences can obtain their placement result documents through the application system: appiso.firat.edu.tr

Registration Calendar: It Depends on Where You Are

Fırat University's registration system differs from many others, and the difference matters a great deal. The registration calendar is split according to where the candidate is located:

Final registration for candidates applying from within Türkiye: 1-10 September 2026
Final registration deadline for candidates applying from abroad: 30 November 2026

The university's announcement explains the reasoning: because acceptance letters are required for the visa procedures of students coming from abroad, 30 November has been entered as the deadline on the acceptance letters. For candidates residing in Türkiye, the final registration date is 10 September 2026.

This is a considerable relief for candidates who have not yet been able to travel to Türkiye. If your visa process runs long, you do not lose your place. But it does not mean "take your time" — start your visa application as soon as you receive your acceptance letter.

Registration is carried out in person at Fırat University's Student Affairs Department.

Your Acceptance Letter Is in Your Inbox

According to the university's announcement, acceptance letters have been sent to the email addresses candidates declared during application.

If no email has arrived, check your spam folder and log in to the application system to view your status directly. Since the acceptance letter is required for your visa application, make sure you obtain this document.

Documents Required for Final Registration

The university's published list is comprehensive:

International Student Registration Form — completed in full and signed, one printed copy
Notification-Acknowledgement Document — to be printed out and completed
Exam result document — must contain a verification code or be certified by an official institution
Placement result document
Original high school diploma and its Turkish translation certified by a notary or Turkish Embassy/Consulate
Original transcript and its Turkish translation under the same certification requirement
Equivalency certificate — required for Turkish nationals who completed high school abroad and for candidates graduating from international schools in Türkiye
Passport — original, Turkish translation certified by a notary or embassy, plus a photocopy
Photocopy of the identity card for Turkish nationals; original and photocopy of the Blue Card for Blue Card holders
Detailed civil registration copy — for dual nationals born as foreign nationals who later acquired Turkish citizenship
1 passport photograph
General Health Insurance (GSS) document — to be obtained from the Social Security Institution
Turkish proficiency certificate — the university's TÖMER certificate or a Yunus Emre Institute certificate

Note the verification code requirement on the exam result document; documents without a code and without certification are not accepted.

What If You Do Not Hold a Turkish Certificate?

The university's announcement sets out a clear route: those without a Turkish proficiency certificate will sit an exam administered by the university's Turkish Teaching Application and Research Center and, where necessary, enrol in TÖMER.

Tuition Fees: Last Year's Tariff for Now

Fırat University's approach to fees is notable and contains a detail candidates need to know.

According to the announcement, tuition fees are paid, after document verification, into the designated account at the 2025 fee rates. Fees will be updated once the decision on 2026-2027 current service costs is published in the Official Gazette.

And the critical point: if a difference arises between the updated fees and the 2025 rates, the difference will be collected later.

Points to Watch After Registration

The announcement sets out four warnings for the post-registration period:

Forged documents or missing conditions cancel registration. Candidates who submit forged documents, or who are later found not to meet the registration conditions, have their registration cancelled and their student rights invalidated.
Residence permit and foreigner ID notification. Students must apply to the Provincial Directorate of Migration Management for a residence permit and notify the Student Affairs Department of the foreigner identity number they obtain.
Residence document for those with a permit in Türkiye. Candidates in this situation must submit a "Residence Document".
Missing the deadline counts as waiver. Candidates who do not register within the stated dates are deemed to have waived their registration rights.

Who Cannot Use International Student Status?

The announcement includes a clear restriction based on a Council of Higher Education decision:

Candidates who enrolled in secondary education institutions in Türkiye and graduated from high school there can only enter higher education through the YKS. None of these candidates can be placed in higher education institutions with international student status.

This rule applies nationwide and is repeated in many universities' announcements. If you attended high school in Türkiye, the international student quota is not an option for you.

If You Were Not Placed in This Round

Fırat University ran more than one placement period this academic year: first-period applications were received 3-19 July, and second-period applications 27 July – 16 August 2026. Preference periods were opened separately.

Under the university's system, each candidate has 10 preferences. There is a minimum score requirement for the Faculty of Medicine — in the second preference period, only candidates with a valid TR-YÖS score could choose medicine, with a minimum score set at 90. No minimum score applies to other departments.

Find your acceptance letter in your inbox — check the spam folder too.
Identify your registration deadline: 10 September if you are in Türkiye, 30 November if abroad.
Start your visa application with the acceptance letter immediately.
Prepare all thirteen documents — especially the notarised translations and the exam result document with its verification code.
If you do not hold a Turkish certificate, prepare for the TÖMER exam.
Apply for your residence permit after registration and notify Student Affairs of your foreigner identity number.
